Perpetual Design (Jon Imeson) is an multi faceted artist based in Austin, TX. With a focus on geometric forms, his work spans over the past decade with works in analog pyrography, digital fabrication, parametric design, and much more.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
My work explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and recycling culture. With influences as diverse as Machiavelli and Miles Davis, new combinations are manufactured from both orderly and random meanings.
Since I was a postgraduate, I have been fascinated by the traditional understanding of the mind. What starts out as hope soon becomes debased into a hegemony of greed, leaving only a sense of decadence and the dawn of a new synthesis.
As wavering replicas become distorted through boundaries and repetitive practice, the viewer is left with a tribute to the inaccuracies of our future.
